Invisalign® treatment begins with a consultation with one of our Invisalign®-trained providers in Frederick. During your consultation, we will evaluate your teeth to ensure that Invisalign® is the best option for you. Take this opportunity to ask us questions and express any concerns you may have regarding Invisalign®.

Once determined that you are a candidate for Invisalign®, we will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth. These photos will be used to create a digital 3-D model of your teeth. We will create a precise plan, and show you a visual representation of what your teeth will look like upon completion of treatment. We can also determine approximately how long treatment may take.

Based on your unique treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners is created. Aligners should be worn throughout the day, and can be removed during brushing, flossing and eating. For best results, wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day until treatment is completed. Our clear aligners are comfortable to wear and unlike traditional braces, they won’t irritate your gums or cheeks.

Approximately every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners. Each aligner gently shifts your teeth into position. We will schedule regular appointments with you to ensure the treatment process is smooth. With each aligner, you will gradually see improvement. The amount of time and number of aligners worn varies depending upon your treatment plan.

Once you have reached the end of your treatment, your teeth will look beautiful and straight. To maintain the straight appearance of your teeth, we will recommend you wear a retainer to keep your teeth in their new position.
